ARTIST STATEMENT



I am a multi-media artist who communicates through the mediums of video and sculpture, utilizing found materials to craft my narratives. My practice is deeply rooted in the aesthetics of Art Brut, an approach that champions raw, unrefined expression over conventional artistic polish. This ethos allows me to explore the tension between the so-called "low" art techniques and the "high" or marginalized ideologies that my work often embodies.

My video work further explores this high-low contrast, often juxtaposing sophisticated editing techniques with raw, unfiltered content. This blend of polished and rough elements creates a dynamic interplay that speaks to the contradictions within modern society—where polished surfaces often mask deeper, more complex realities. Through this contrast, I aim to provoke thought and dialogue, encouraging viewers to question the boundaries between art and everyday life, between the revered and the rejected.

Ultimately, my work aims to challenge the viewer to look beyond surface appearances and to engage with the deeper, often uncomfortable truths that lie beneath.

I always try to keep it simple. And I always fail to do so.
